Description

Gamelan Instruments #2 Here are members of the "kettle gong" family. The different shapes of the 'pots' gives each instrument a unique "timbre" (voice). At the left is the "bonang" - with its 12 'pots' set in a double row. This is a paired instrument, with 2 instruments playing 'interlocking melody'. At the right is the "ketuk" - each of its 12 'pots' has its own separate stand. This too is a paired instrument, with 2 instruments playing 'interlocking melody'. In the front is the long "trompong" - played by 2 musicians, each using half of the long range of 'pots'. Parts crafted in DesignCad 3D and Carrara, assembled with Bryce primitives in Bryce 5.

Sleek is the first word that comes to mind when I view this one. Your lines are razor sharp and your textures so vivid its as if I can feel them if I run my hand across my screen. A wonderful work of art here as always.
