Description

I wanted to create a more realistic deep sea picture. But the trouble is, the ain't much light down there. So I had to go a bit Hollywood on you and add some unnatural lights from above. Assume it's from the base ship or something. Somepostwork but mostly levels and stuff. All Bryce models. The flotsam you can just about make out is from 1000 dispersed spheres. Sharks from 3dCafe. Thanks for stopping by. p.s. I've just noticed how the subs look like the pods from 2001, didn't plan on that, it' must be a subconcious thing. :-)

Actually, I really like the lighting, and although I tend to lean more towards blue than green for underwater scenes in general, it works well here. I do have a question though: where are the subs' lightbulbs making those rays of light on the floor? It looks almost like the beams just appear in front of the vessel (or maybe that's my monitor).

The second (right hand) sub has to light sources on the bottom. This is a great, fun pic and nice look to the depth. Great scene idea.

Great underwater atmosphere! I always think it's better to go "Hollywood" on the lighting than to have a too dark pic where you can't make out any detail.

Don't know how I missed this one. Excellent picture, love the dappled light. Don't sweat it about the extra lighting, it's the end result that counts.

A third or fourth vessel casting light onto the two primary search craft could have been as useful as overhead lights. But even with very bright overhead shipborne lights the recovery subs have a clear purpose.
