Description

Frogdot Industries is proud to announce that in addition to it's longtime productive Atlantic Wind Farm, we have developed a successful "Hurricane Magnet". The secret is the "Lodocrap Crystal". Made with beach sand and metal from mobile homes, this crystal acts as a conductive attractor to the ultra-low pressure cyclonic winds. As the hurricane approaches the magnet, it builds in intensity to terminal velocity of about 200mph. At that time a natural feedback occurs and the eye of the storm suddenly implodes and vaporizes into calm nothingness.
Of course, the benefits are obvious. With such powerful winds, the wind generators produce amazing amounts of electricity, which we, in turn, sell back to the government.
***
On a serious note, with this image, I do not mean to make fun of the tragic situation in Florida and the Caribbean. It's more "wishful thinking" that something could be made to control these storms. My best wishes and sympathy go to all that have to ride out these hurricanes.
***
76 lattices and 10 terrains were used. A 196mb file. The panels were quickly drawn in Photoshop, with a bunch of straight lines and then made into lattices. It's alot easier than it looks. Tried making it as large an image and while keeping the filesize down, to get as much detail.

Anyone willing to stick it out through 3 major hurricanes in about a month must have one hell of a sense of humor! Un-believably intricate modeling, and that's an excellent looking sea.

Monumental! The "lodocrap" crystal reminds me of all the compressed sand figurine souvenirs that were so popular in Florida. Erected in the Bermuda Triangle?

As ever, utterly stunned. Love the wave crests, and it looks suitably ramshackle and yet ya just know it could take those winds and laugh...

Markostimpy Productions, located in Ft. Myers Fla. Has gotten the brunt of "Charlie" and "Frances" and soon (maybe), "Ivan". I reside in a mobile home (trailer trash extrordinaire). We lived, and will endure. Your model is better constructed than my home. Bravo !! Bring those talents to CAD and help us out down here. Stunning image, needed the comic relief. 10 plus !!!

You get another Floridian Thumbs Up vote from me... maybe you could include a rain attracting capacitor made from freshly-washed car paint samples? --

After being hit by both of those stinking hurricanes and waiting here with my two children that are out of school yet again so that the school may be turned into a shelter, I can thank you for trying to put a positive spin on the situation. Excellent work on this piece and thank you for sharing..

There were probably enough trees down in my neighborhood after Charley to build one of those... I love the pic, and the sense of humor behind it.
