Description
As September 11th approached I began to
work on this piece. I worried about honoring the men and women who died and of those who worked so hard to free those trapped in the buildings where the terrorists had perputrated such unspeakable horrors. This digital painting hopefully honors them and also the original Photographer of this photo...Thomas E. Franklin of "The Record".
I began with a sketch of the photograph. I then took the sketch outline into Paint Shop Pro 8 and 9 where I painted it. I like the new developments in PSP9, but have been disappointed by some of the aspects of the program they left out...hence the reason I worked in both programs. The Frame, Soft Focus, Rope, a Rose and Star (PSP Tubes) were done in the program.
I thank you for stopping by and I pray that you all are having a wonderful blessed day!

I will never forget. Wonderul image -- strong, beautiful, and your choice of colors nicely brings the central figures to the focus of our attention, yet your muted tones maintain a somber feeling. Great work.
