Description

There was a thread a while back about how to create a tornado. Since I'm currently in the desert of no ideas, (and just finished watching Twister)I thought I'd play around and came up with this. I used the tut that Zhann found to create the twister. Spent ages making a barn and the silo and you can't really see them anyway. Got the tractor, cow and windmill from the web. And you'll notice Drac's robot in there too. He's having a great time, so don't worry. Some contrast, saturation tweaks in PS7. Of course, now I live in Indiana, chances are I'll see a tornado next year. Kinda looking forward to that.... Kinda. Thanks for looking.

Fun image. And a little too accurate for comfort. I'm just glad the stick man is in there to relieve the realism a bit. :) Seriously, though, this is great work.

Love your image of a twister Marion, see them on cable only as we have cyclones, si,ilar but without the twist, you sure have captured the essence of what I have seen, the darnes and the flying bits and pieces, hope you do not get to close to ne ever,Great mixture of reality here. Eccelent** Lina

Impressive as always....since I've lived in Tornado all my life I can appreciate everything I see here. Too damned cool! Well Andy and I will be moving to Indiana in a few weeks...so we'll see if those twisters will give us a warm welcome next year. lol. Excellent work Phil!

convincing! and your camera work and the drama is perfect. I think there's a pretty good cow model for you on the web, hehe. If you're worried about tornadoes, just drive to Richmond, IN. Proceed to E main and South A Sts. Go down into the 200 ft ravine away from any trees or wires. I think you'll be safe, 'cause the 'nado will pass over your zenith. Wear a hard hat and safety shoes - just in case.

Awesome tornado rendering, very lifelike and it really portrays the sense of power these things carry... Good work on the flying debris, too!

Love your space images, but this is one of my all-time favorite pics - of any genre or application! The enormous energy is palpable, the nearly black ceiling conveying a sense of dread and doom. And I'm still trying to figure out how to do a decent tornado, tutorials notwithstanding! You have really come up with a doozy of a vortex. Congrats on a truly fantastic piece of work.
