Description

Autumn is the great change of the season full of life to the season where life seems gone. Yesterday the weather was rainy but after a time it stopped raining. A little stroll in the backyard made me find this little guy, the european hedgehog (Erinaceus europeaus). Usually they appear after sunset but now it walked a bit around, and when I came too close it curled itself into a sphere of needles. But after a while it trusted me and I could make some shots of it. I have temporarily an old digital camera and I thought you'd like to see this little gardener! Sony Mavica MVC-FD85 1.3 MP Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

I agree with Niutek. The last one is really great. Hey, you're lucky, this animal looks like he still belongs to the wild life. The ones we've got in our garden are used to eat our Bernese dog food. They're getting fat!...

Whoo-hoo!!! You hedged in and got your hog shots!!! :) These are ALL fabulous fotos...so detailed I can see the sharp needle points on its body! ouch they're as sharp as they look!! I see in the 1st one what a shy guy he was. chuckles at that last one...he looks verrry curious about you!! Oh, u ever hear of "hedgehog flavored crisps?" clears throat well, one strange man from Wales marketed these as a joke (no real hedgehogs used!) and got into ALL kinds of trouble. Check out this link for more info: http://www.khyri.com/hedgehog/chips.txt (turns out that gypsies eat baked hedgehog) turns up nose ewwwwww! Impressive find & capture! vote!

Lovely captures! I like the one where his foot is forward, he's really looking at you there! We used to see these creatures a lot years ago, would leave food out for them and they would call by, but hardly ever see them now!

He's a little cutie. The contribution of nature to a feeling of opportunity is generous, indeed.
