Description
There is something afoot.
I know not yet the details
Or the prospects of this,
But when you held me
An innocent hug
There was something so strong
so sweet about it all.
We lingered a little longer
than we ought;
I didn't mind.
Your work hardened arms,
A reflection of your life's wisdom.
And then you asked for a second turn!
It is clear to me now
There is something there
Something more than just pals.
It's wonderful, yet scary,
and questions arise
in consequence.
Our experiences similar
Our attitudes the same
Our thoughts in synch
Our wants coincide
Our ages do not.
We've both been there and done that
We know what can happen
And I wonder whether my toe
Is ready yet to be watered again.
Oh what contradictions!
Fear and desire - seem to be enemies
Last night I woke thrice
And there you were each time
My first thought.
A smile surged through me.
I missed you.
I wanted to call
And request more hugs. :-)
I was afraid
So many reasons not to go there.
Are they reasonable though?
I am trying to remain sensible
But you have invaded my spirit
And rational thought is fading.
I fear the effect of another hug.
But I want it still.

"But you have invaded my spirit", that is when it is best. :) V

Ah but I know this ... this knowledge that something terrifyingly right is about to happen, but to fear the consequences and implications. In the end, needs must ... and action should prevail over fear. Beautifully expressed. V
