Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

This is the best! You really got close to it and caught it resting. Excellent shot of a wild ibex. The sky/the mountainside is gorgeous too. Marvellous picture. Fit to be framed!

The grass would make an excellent beard for a mountain billy goat. Getting the eyes horns and coat of the ibex in detail shimmering is a feature, for sure.

The Ibex are very relaxed around you, I would have thought that wild animals would stay far away from humans. An excellent capture, the sunshine on his fur is beautiful. Amazingly done =)

I love the "rim" lighting that really helps separate the ibex from the cool blue background in shadow. Those eyes look alien, but then again I haven't seen an ibex before now...

Great capture, great colours. Was the ibex moving, or did it stop to pose for you? Regards, John.
