Description

A last view on the mountains in the east shows us the Alps preparing for winter. On this side of the Alps pines and firs predominantly cover the higher slopes of the mountains. In the south larches joyfully color the mountains with their yellow needles in this time, but that's far behind these mountains.... sigh ...the mountains on the horizon...the sky...exquisite. it's so quiet here. i like to listen to the shadow as it slowly blankets the trees. i feel it pass over me. in shadow looking toward the sun, i enjoy the rich, earthy hues. Soon, the winds will start to whisper here. The solidity of humankind rests here! powerful, breathtaking capture, Jan-Carel!

In Vitruvius a "larch" according to the translator was a tree that cannot be burned by fire and grew on the coastal cliffs. You cannot prove this by me as I have only met high altitude larches above the pines. Keep em' comin'. Good work!
