Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

gasp I can't believe this!!!What spectacular colors, and those mountains ARE glowing!!!!!! I've never heard of this phenomenon before; it's just magnificent! Here in Kentucky we have a weather phenomenon called "Moonbow" that occurs only at Cumberland Falls (part of the area where my native American ancestors roamed), just a short drive my parents' homoe. This phenomenon occurs only one other place in the world, Zimbawbwe, Africa...at a waterfall there. Here's a link to learn more: http://www.2geton.net/martin/moonbow/page2.html Anyway, I shall definitely learn more about Alpenglen! This is a VERY special, incredibly beautiful capture! I shall stand under this glow and feel the life and energy of this place!!! It's been an incredible journey...a most special trip! Thanks! :) A+++++++ & vote!

A most wonderful picture, thank you! Reminds me of a story where I was lost and set my "compass" by the glow of the sunset in the west - drove miles in the wrong direction - it was one of these "brighter in the east" phenomena.
