Description

Are you tired yet? We've reached the Trogenhorn at 1973 m (6471 ft) and we get a splendid view to the west. You can see here the Swiss 'Mittelland', the landscape with hills up to about 1500 m (4500 ft), and covered by the nebula's the Swiss plain. On the horizon you can see the Jurassic mountains (up to 1700 m, 5500 ft) bordering with France on a distance of 75 kilometers (47 miles). We've reached the ridge and will have this splendid vista continuously before we reach the summit of the Hohgant. Time for a piece of chocolate and a drink! The weather is perfect, no worry for any rain or so! Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 35 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Wow, as always just some sight to see. Just so very lovely a view here, the beautiful mountains fading into the distance with the clouds covering their retreat. Just so very pretty, with the lovely colors. Excellent capture and job as always.

Somehow you know that in spite of the sun it will be cold. You'll need a cabin and a cozy fire and where you are way up here isn't a good place for that. Building a cabin and fire will involve hauling a lot of wood and that means more than a trail. That means a road. Unless of course you love the alpine and cannot wait for snow!!

What a magnificent view! The horizon is incredible! looks much like a sea of blue! Hmmm, I reflect on this. A sea? I wonder.....Jurrasic mountains...sigh I think THIS is most spectacular sight i have seen thus far! I wish to journey there; I wish to know more. Tell me of the foreground. I enjoy the mauves and greens in the valley, the cut of the mountains. This image is quite melodic, and I enjoy its rhythm and its symphony. I wonder, do you hear it too? I wonder does this music find its way into the caves? Hohgant...quite special. A most impressive capture!! vote!

Brilliant. The folds or gorges in the mid distance with the zig zags looks like a strange place.

Those wandering chalk roads, fired both my imagination snd my wanderlust, Jan-Carel. I would love to be hiking in this beautiful country. Thanks, John.
