Description

This is an elven shortsword/dagger I started working with a few days ago. It was an interesting exercise in using bumpmaps and modelling. I think the leaves turned out very well. I first planned to add some elven mumbo-jumbo runes on the blade, but I changed my mind, since I think it would destroy the overall balance of the picture. There are some details which you can't see in this picture, but I did my best to illustrate the details. The model contains about 10 000 polygons. Thank you for taking your time to view it. Please rate and comment. Thanks / Tor --upd: I would like to thank all of you who took your time to view and comment on my work, happy rendering!

This is amazing. Everything is so realistic that I would have beleived that it was a photo. The "hand crafted" details on the hilt are beautiful.

very good work!!from your gallery I see that you're learning fast ! I like all the bumps and the texturing..you're becoming quite good! ;) if you dont mind some suggestion, I see that the "strangest" aspect of your pics is the lighting, dont underestimate it! use colors and start doing experiments with it! there are plenty of tutorials about it. keep it up!

Breathtaking work....Truly wonderful... If you put some dramatic depth of field on this guy it would be completely photo real.... wonderful

Excellent render! Modelling and bumpmapping is breathtaking. But I agree with TalleJC, you should try some DOF, it could be even better.

I'm only going to crank up the criticism, since you have really increased the quality of your work incredibly. Only one comment... the shape and bend of the handle does not look as balanced nor as deliberately graceful as your blace. Beautiful textures and superb lighting.

I'm absolutely stunned, that's one of the best pieces of modelling, texturing and lightning I've ever seen. It looks as if you made a photography of this sword. AWESOME! Greets Corven

I NEVER want to get myself into a trouble with a guy who has this sword. It is that sharp. Makes me step back!
