Description

Was thinking how grateful I am for my friends today, the pic is a collage of pics, if I'm not in any particular pic I took it, and if I am in it, then I can't be sure which of my friends took it... (so I took 4 of the pics)
__________________________________________________________________________________ The way of friends
"I only get goose bumps when the weird part comes" laughing, dancing, socializing As close as a phone call or even closer couching it when life is rough sending memories, comfort food and bubble bath from across the sea Dyeing your hair when you need a change offering shelter from the rain toasting and honouring a loved one's name the way of friends
"Sure, give the stoned guy the phone" pizza and re-taster burps and not being alone Game nights, internal fights - always, eventually, resolved Seeing auras; sharing visions and dreams crying on each other's shoulders calling during commercial breaks encouraging DVD addiction the way of friends
Inspiration and artistic vision critiques and compliments for self-expression is from the soul intelligence, wisdom, and beyond an intimate sharing of knowledge and instinct with rye and candlelight we can stay up all night the way of friends
Chairs of unimaginable comfort trapping and yet cradling us the clanging of the candleholders the irrepressible nature of our amusement misappropriated hair extensions crazy roommates and Tickle-Me-Elmo suspicious smelling smoke and an insane pizza delivery guy peeing on your door while you shriek in horror the way of friends
Dancing in cages, on bars and on speakers enticing the norms we're ravishing creatures having fun with each other making fun of ourselves freedom and strobe lights and shooters all-request hilarity protected and cherished the way of friends
"Pretty woman and I'm an Albino" the music of our lives and discussions of what Retro really is in for the long haul through the laughter and the sorrow for weddings and births break-ups and illnesses even funerals and burials irreplaceable moments and memories embarrassing stories and incriminating photographs "new rules" and squealing like a pig oddness and understanding if only between those of us

When I was growing up, I lived near New York City and it was the 60's. :D My fondest memories are encapsulated in 'fog' and watching things 'unseen' to the observers of our deeds....being asked to 'go' if we have made too much noise, ya know how those giggles get ;) (we got thrown out of a Sunday Mass while tripping our a$$es off). There are some now passed and some who have disappeared, even from families. So many times 'the pack' went wild. I hope you have the equivalent of Greenwich Village in your life.

Wolfspirit: thank you blush seriously, it's nice to have good friends, even though some of us don't live in the same town and one person from one pic I haven't talked to since just after my son was born, but other than that, I am still in touch and friends with the rest... One has been my soul sister and friend since 1986, and of my friends shown above, the newest one I've known since Oct 2003 :)... netsia: who posted as I was posting my reply to Wolfspirit... I really do. I have got some fabulous ppl in my life, and tons of incriminating and often shocking stories about all of us (mostly me though I think) ;)

Terrific ode to friendship. I heard on the radio the other day that when women seek each other out in times of strife, a hormone is released into the body which provides a peaceful calm. Nice to know that there is a physiologically positive aspect to female friendships!

are you serious? the only thing I recall hearing to do with female friends and hormones was them often switching to all have the same menstrual cycle...
