Wonderful work !!!

this is a very interesting image - the skipping ropes are almost like spinning hoops and the symmetry of the green "faces" are very interesting - yes, i do think that the fractals open up opportunities for interpretation

hey this is excellent .. very good feeling you have made.

I agree with Sharkrey, on both counts. Most comments are rather jubilant but by letting know that you vote for the image shows that you think the image is truly extraordinary. No pressure whatsoever. And should you vote for an image that doesn't meet your standards because the maker voted for your image?? I think not! I hope not! By the way: love the owlhead in the middle!

Certainly no condensension was implied or intended by my comments above. I also have no doubt that people think for themselves. I am very glad to read that some of you are taking an opposing view (the same view I originally held - in fact). My concern is not for those who do not feel pressure to reciprocate, but rather for those who might or do. One may think for oneself and still feel some pressure which can influence actions. That's not condesention to say so; that's simply recognition of human nature and behaviour that all, including me, may feel. I have over time been told by a few artists that it is a concern to them. I would be interested to hear the views of anyone who feels that indicating a vote in a comment does exert some pressure or create a misimpression, If I don't hear this from anyone, or if only a very few imdicate they feel some pressure, then I will reume my former practice and just avoid indicating a vote in the comments to those who would perefer not to know.

Wonderful image and the title is very curious!...Now as much as I hate debate, I need agree with sharkrey, there can truly be a vulgarizion and misinterpretation of perceptions. As a masters graduate in psychology myself, one can say art is in the intrepretation, as we each see the world and react differently..I could never understand why when one becomes a psychologist, they would feel the need to read into the pure, honest reactions of others to form complex guilt trips based on their OWN..interpretation. You see we all have interpretations....keeps us unique, for the most part, we know when not to intrude our interpretations of what we see from others, if we think they may alter, in a negative way, the interpretation accepted at face value. Education into thoughts and personalities is not a green card to disrupting others pure, and happy perceptions, and no offence to your psychologist friend! (I would consider asking them why they felt the need to alter your perceptions with a less then fun way to see things, power trip perhaps? Jealousy? hmmmm...wheres my cigar..lol) Off my soap box now...s I do agree that many fractals would make fine Rorschach tools, in the right hands anyway! (=

Hope the super-ego is strong, because the battle between the other-two can sometimes be fierce! This is an intricate and beautiful design, with your light-influenced and wonderfully vivid coloring. Excellent, and an interesting conversation between you and your friend. I've stopped analyzing the whys and wherefore's re votes and even comments. Have been accused of overdoing my enthusiasm, but, frankly, I comment according to what I see in and feel about an image. I'm not cool..or particularly intellectual. I just like purdy and interesting pictures, and I'm not afraid to say so. :~)

I rarely even comment anymore becaucse they tend to sound inane. I love to vote though...but again, I rarely tell. I think it becomes easy to get caught up in the idea of commenting to get comments, and voting to get votes. I just like the beautiful art presented here, and the idea of sharing mine. Oh yeah, did I mention that this is a cool fractal representation????

I do believe Ego has the fastest rope. Great image and conversations.

"I just like purdy and interesting pictures, and I'm not afraid to say so." [fractalinda] ...can't argue with that! Simple, concise, and well said!

Your conversation reminds me of the wolf and the dove story. Each of us born with one on each shoulder. And what survives? The one you feed. I love the concept. I quit doing the * thing a long time ago, but because of all of the ranking similarities, and the sameness of the comments, Very RARELY, I do let the person know I voted. It has to be exceptional for me to let them know, though. From now on, I think I am just going to IM that person and let them know that way. Secret is better.

Wonderful image, and deep conversation starter...I guess in can be up to interpretation and the rapport between artists. I rarely ever vote on an image and haven't for a long time told when I do. It is just something I feel is a personal and private issue.

This is an awesome image Rik, the colors and the deisgns are very nice!

Rik, I love the image but feel saddened that you feel you owe anyone here any explanation for what you do, or do not do. I went through what you are going through now. It drove me away from the gallery altogether. Now I just do what I do and let people know that I've voted because to me that is a compliment. I don't expect nor want a pity vote. I thought we were all adults here and could think for ourselves, but this kind of issue seems to creep up at least once a week. It gets depressing after awhile. I say we all do what we are comfortable doing. Live and let live. And stop over analyzing what was a joy to share and see when I first came here. ART! This isn't politics.

Vote Vote Vote Do what you feel. Don't let others make you feel guilty about the special things you do/create. If other artists tell me that they have voted, all I do is pay them the courtesy of looking at their work. If I think it's worth a reciprocal comment or vote then I'll do that. If I think it's outstanding, I'll IM them. If it's none of these, I don't. 'Nuff said.

Hey, great looking fractal. The rope jumping is quite interesting, this guy must be getting a big headache. Interesting conversation as well, I think that it is great when everyone speaks what is on their minds. Sometimes I leave a * and sometimes I don't when I vote. Some days I don't vote and all and some days I vote for lots of images. I used to talk to my psychologist, who was not really a friend, about music but he wasn't all that interested. He wanted to know why I was so distant and uncommunicable instead. Sometimes it would really piss me off because I was paying him to talk to me, me and the insurance company, so I figured we should talk about what I wanted to talk about. Voting and comments have really meant different things to me at different points during my stay here at Renderosity. Right now I'm not sure what they mean, but this is a really cool looking work!!

This guy should be able to fly. :-) The "jumpropes" look like wings to me. Wonderful image, either way. Re: voting, I almost always indicate my vote with V, but I rarely vote. Since the hot 20 is for a week and is, by definition, 20 fractals, I would only vote for something I thought was one of the best 20 I'd seen in the last week, with is a very difficult decision. Ergo, I don't vote very often. My work is out on the edge enough so I don't expect many votes, and I certainly don't expect reciprocity. I think your friend should spend a while in the galleries to see if their opinion changed.
