My name is James Lee. I am a self-taught 3D graphics artist living in Brighton, Michigan. Im a big fan of science fiction and cinema, finding design inspiration from movies like Star Wars and Blade Runner.
I use Rhinocerous (modelling), Poser 5 (figures), Cinema 4D (modelling and rendering), PhotoPaint 10 (post-production and texturing)
My current body of work focuses on an accidental heroine, a mouse named Claude, and an ensemble of alien characters caught up in unusual circumstances. BIO Proud to be featured on

James, you leave me motionless and speachless each time you post a new pic in this series (except for the left right movement of my mouse to see it all and the occasional expletive!) - lovely, super, excellent, deliberated, composed, detailed, characterised... etc. are just some of the words that come to mind with this.. f**king great are just 2 more !! :D - I have to say, its great to see this in colour, you still retain that cinematic/b-movie feel, but I personally prefer the tinted monochromes myself! - well done mate!
Curio
Flabbergasted again! You just too good!! lol! I like the colour myself. - Your characters and story telling are amazingly engaging. Let me guess...the two creatures with the gun are after the mouse for some reason...and those two at the back look familiar.... :) You have shown yourself to be the master once again

episode 14 was outstanding, episode 02 seems to be unbelievable.i have one question how long takes one scene to be done?

Color version I think is the best...you are a true masster who has the paitence to wait for the rendering to get done is this Bryce5?
Taura Noxx
this is just the best! The detail and composition is extraordinary.

Just came across this and checked out your gallery... all of your images are well rendered and have a great feel to them. I especially like the way all the scenes are "full" creating a sense of vastness. :)

I bow down to your talent....may as well pick my jaw up off the floor while I'm at it! Unbelievable work! No way could I come up with a way to improve this, it's perfect.

This inspires me to improve my skills, throw all my renders in the bin, and start from scratch. Thanx

Don't tell me........the dude at the back wearing the tie is going to be the love interest?!?! (I know the horned fella at the front would like to be but we all know that would be sooooo wrong!) The best thing about your images, the aspect that impresses me the most, is how each one is a TOTAL, seemless piece of work. You can look to each corner of the image and it moves off the page encouraging your mind to depict what you can't see. There is none of this 'image in the middle on a blank or emotiveless background nonesense' in your work. No frames, no borders, no competition. Period. Now, for the 1,000,000th time, WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A WEBSITE!!? P.S.the colour thing is very good although I can't say I have a preference.

Great Job I like Altairmouse & the smilingunmen. Excellent

What can I say that hasnt been said already!!..... Your insane with the detail geezer!...... A wunderpiece werk in my book!!!.... Maybe a 'slight camera tilt' & DOF effect would add to this ultrafine image............

Absolutely terrific. Has anyone else mentioned the little whisp of smoke from the cigar? I love little details like that.
Stillchaos
Man how do you make your pictures look so photo realistic? I believe that this has to be your best work yet so dont stop cause it only looks like it is getting better.

...to be honest, I dig that blue tint more. I mean, this is perfect, superior + 139476 adjectives, but somehow, that blue is something special. Perfect poses, perfect composition, perfect light. This is pretty annoying, that I cant find even a smallest detail to nitpick, not anything. In one beautiful day, youre gonna be famous with these works of yours.

Why can't I score this? Why can't I give it a 10? Ergh! I've just browsed so much crap that doesn't deserve high scores and yet I cannot give a true artist the perfect score they deserve! Really no one has more lifelike poses/expressions. You are the king in that respect, as well as coming up with characters, costumes and locales that look plucked right out of a genuine sci-fi movie.

Wow. I would wish these images to hang on my wall. Wow. You are damn good. Have you submitted your stuff to any magazines or such? I do prefer the monochrome-it leaves a little more to the imagination. I love the feeling I get when I look at your art. I want to pan the screen beyond the image. The background is alive and I want to see more. Wow. It is really amazing the amount of ...mediocrity one must traverse before one comes upon your magnificent work. I only hope you don't become tired of all your well deserved praise. I believe this episode and your last have the best detail. Your strength is obviosly in the details, the bacground, and the subject matter. I imagine everone here would love to see your "script." I for one love the damsel and mouse combo. Wow.

Thanks for all the kind words. I appreciate the feedback I'm getting. Maybe I'll go back to the monochrome tinted versions. Anyway, thanks for keeping me motivated. I would like to post some tutorials on how I created my scenes, all of which were done in Bryce and Poser, including props and characters. Simple tricks can go a long way.
