Description
This view shows you the first part of my descent. Not very steep as it will be later.
I told you yesterday that there was no path to find! So I tried to walk without one. But suddenly the ridge in front of me went straight up as a bare rock! Climbing is not my thing because I feel fear if I have to go down later when the abyss is to steep and near! But here I decided (that was a mistake) not to go back because it was late also. So I had to go down right now and here over field and stone!
The descent went down in steep cascades. After every cascade it got steeper! The fern became higher and higher (at the end it got my height) and under it were stones, waterholes and sometimes a creek you couln't see!
After two hours lifting up the feet to get through the high fern I didn't have the power anymore to get my feet up! So the stalks around my legs let fell me straight down: BOING! LOL
It was a NEVERENDING struggle and I was so scared to break my ankles! All bones were hurting and I said: I cannot walk further! I wait until a helicopter will pick me up! And I really cried! ;o( But there was no chance, I had to go!
Every time I got to the next cascade, I couln't look down to see what will come! I only saw nothing and I thought it will go straight down the abyss! That was most of my fear that there was no chance to get further!
It also was the first and last time that I met scotlands little monster, the midgets!!! It was hot and I was wet of sweat from the climbing! Now I had to hide my hands and face with my pullover! Means more sweating and seeing nothing! When I wasn't moving the midgets were sucking my blood! uuuaaahhh!
Another 2 hours and there also were growing many young trees, standing very close together, that you couldn't go through! And the creeks now were running down ravines I couln't cross!
And all the time I was afraid that it will be dark before I get to the street! In this case I would sit down and wait until the next morning!
But another 30 minutes and I saw the street!!!
But there I had to hobble back to my car about 7 or 8 miles and on that way it got dark. I arrived the apartment at 11.30 p.m.
What an adventure! LOL
And before I got there I saw similar pictures like this here and I thought like you: "what beautiful and easy to walk there!"
Hope not boring you and thanks that you didn't leave me alone on this horror trip! LOL

Och Aye Rita, off path Munro bagging eh? You wee extremist you!!!! I remember coming off the top of a Munro in thick mist once, I went down about 1500 ft before the cloud broke and I realised my mistake. I had to climb all the way back up again. When I got back to the top and got my bearings I set off again.... yip, you guessed it ...in the wrong direction again. This time I was almost at the bottom and to my horror I realised that I'd done it again but worse!! That was a horror trip too, and a very long one. Take care now!
