Description
Those of us who adhere to the tradition of decorating a Christmas tree every year usually have a favorite or special ornament that must be displayed in a prominent place on the tree. Somewhere right up front and center... ;) Sometimes the favorite is an antique ball... perhaps handed down from your grandmother. Or maybe it was given to you as a gift by a special friend. It's possible you bought it for yourself because it was just too pretty to leave in the store. No matter how it was acquired, it brings back wonderful memories each year when it is lovingly lifted out of its protective wrappings and hung with the greatest of care.... :)
Four Apophysis flames went in to this image. One for the tree branches, a mirrored flame for the ornament, a wee piece of a spiral flame for the hook... and one more for the gold ring. Background, frame and sig were done in PSP 7.

Fantastic work on all of the elements! The ornament is extraordinary, looks like a family heirloom to always be treasured. I used to have some favorite ones but now, as they sit in their boxes waiting to come out for those few days or weeks, I have trouble recalling what they are. You are starting to get me in the holiday spirit, a task that is not easy to accomplish. Thanks for the excellent image!

Wonderful ornament and tree, Helen! I especially like the detail in the ornament. This makes me want to get our tree put up soon. I've got 2 faves - one's a VERY old one my mom brought from Czech. and the other is the Beatle's Yellow Sub. Excellent+++ image!

You know Helen, you really could use your hobby sense and make this a real ornament for your tree. Print it out, hobby glue it to a foam cut-out. Then mirror it for the other side of the cut-out. Just the handcraft lover here talking. lol q-: It's very beautiful! V (:
