Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Switzerland is a good place to develop an Identify Friend or Foe (IFF.) Even when the DNA matches are from different generations the drisophyla can cue on no natural enemies to survive. Equal Opportunity tempers the Situation Awareness. Beautiful letterist appeal of a species not evergreen.

With all the elements of the weather and the surrounding of rock formation, there is a Garden of Eden. You captured it! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Aloha

it's absolutely stunning! sigh. i wish that the reality of the world could be to walk in this place, in the mountains, on the beach, thru the rainforests...and just feel nothing but wonder, peace, and joy...where all is right with the world. just walk forever with God. sigh. one day....anyway, i wish the trunk of that tree was bigger. I would love to wrap my arms around it and hug it tight. Think i'll just sit under it...better yet, curl up under it and stare up into those magnificent snow-topped mountains and clear blue sky. I pray here in this glorious place...this piece of Heaven on Earth. An incredible capture for sure!!!! vote!

The style is the same but the colors are a bit different than usually. I prefer these ones! Still excellent, anyway.

Beautiful scenery. Well captured. Excellent!-jl

An intriguing shot, Jan -Carel, which sparked off this reverie. I can just imagine, an abandoned fort, just over the ridge to the left. Scenes of recent destruction are evident within, but no bodies, no food, no equipment. A torn and charred scrap of a map lies wedged in the broken doorway. Foot prints lead further round the mountain, out of sight. Will we follow?

Superb! Intersting contrast between the rocks in the back and the wind and weather fighting tree in the foreground.

Thank you for taking us here!

Very nice picture. It make you aware of the fact how difficult it is to survive up in the moutains.

Wonderful - the tree gives just enough foreground interest to make it an excellent landscape shot! I love it!
