I've just returned from a trip to Belgium. The beautiful medieval city of Bruges offers such a rich scenic and architectural heritage, so I now have a series of photos of "The Venice of the North".

This image shows part of the festivities in the cobbled "Markt". As you can see, even some of the buildings are dressed for Christmas! There is a temporary ice rink behind the market stalls which will be seen in my next upload "Love Is In The Air".

Venice of the North! I didn't know it but it seems to be quite appropriate... Good scenery. It's always nice to see that some people can live in the modern world without their car! Do they know how lucky they are?

I love Bruges and look forward to seeing the canal scenes! This cobbled square is almost car free, but there are lots of horse drawn carriages, travelling at quite a pace, with passengers well wrapped up to ward off the cold weather! It's a great way to see the sights! I love the way you've got all the bicycles in the foreground!

WOW! I love the architecture in this. The buildings are beautiful, and the splashes of pure color are so WONDERFUL! It seems so out of character for them to be there, and I guess that is why is it so beautiful. I love this.
