Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Judging by the terrain, it's not an easy walk in this rugged Landscape. Enjoy your lunch. Aloha

You can walk over this bridge? Looks so fragil! Great photo again!

a bit scary here. dunno why. but i'm scared to walk over it. i think it's that pit. looks like i could fall in. that black shadow...see something under there, hiding. and in the foreground, one of those rocks has big teeth and and evil eyes. you said it's not cold here. then why am i shivering? i don't want to eat lunch here. i just wanna get far away from this place. it's a great image, Jan-Carel, and i love stones and the textures but i guess i just have a bad feeling here. you captured a highly charged place here and this one evokes intense emotions.

This is a scene you'd expect to see on the moon!! Be careful those rocks look very slippery and dangerous! Very amazing capture of natures own architecture. Remarkable =)

My eyes don't understand anything : I can't see no bridge ... Beautiful lunar landscape though.

Beautiful in its starkness. Great capture.

I like the idea of an ice bridge, but I would not trust my 100kg frame to even 3 metres of ice, Jan-Carel. This resultant terrain, left by the passage of a glacier, is so much sparser, than some of the morane left in Scotland. But then the 'Highlands', are not really that high, are they, in comparison to the Alps?
