Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Gorgeous scene!!! I'm so warm here looking up at the magnificent blue sky!! Is that petrified wood up there? curious about all those branches without leaves (the ones in the foreground). this place looks so dry...like it's been without rain for a long time. such a relief to see that sky, but besides that i really like the contrasting textures which are layered on top of each other! i'm ready to climb to the top now. oh boy, looks steep. but i have to see what's on the other side! Fantastic capture, Jan-Carel!

Nice shot... the perpendicular plates almost look like ancient bark with a much larger scale. Well done.

You uncover, for our entertainment, another fascinating facet of nature, Jan-Carel. You have great observational skills. Even on this barren, forbidding site, nature's plant life finds a way to live side by side with shelling rock formatons. There were no doubt various insect and other life forms present up there in the cracks and rifts. Regards, John.

Its amazing how a tree or plant can find just the tiniest spot on a rock for growth especially on a cliff. Aloha and thank you for sharing
