Description

Visiting the Vosges in winter was a new experience for me. This church in Soultz (Haut-Rhin) was lighted very well. So I put the camera on the tripod and shot this one. Unbelievable how our eyes adapt to the yellow light, because it appears not that yellow as the merciless recordings of the camera. Should I have corrected the perspective? It's possible in Photoshop, but in this way it gives me more the feeling of being small. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 28 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Jan-Carel, you know I love your work. This building is great and the perspective works for me just fine. The yellow lighting is wonderful too. I just can't get past the blue background...I think natural night lighting would have been the better choice here, even if you darkened it up in Photoshop. Otherwise, great job. I noticed saturated blues on a lot of your recent images...is it a byproduct of scanning or is it intentional?

The yellow lights displayed around the church draws one attention closer. It gives you an upward feeling that there is a place that you can go to. Excellent Capture. Aloha

Wow!!!! This is awesome!!! the yellow lighting is just incredible and contrasts well against blue background! Fabulous architecture! I love the massiveness of this place...yep...feeling pretty small here myself! those trees are spectacular against the church and POV is fantastic!! It's a beautiful image, Jan-Carel, and i would keep the perspective the same. i might play with tilting the image just a hair or two...see what happens. Fantastic capture!!!!!

I don't see any problems with the perspective : like this, it seems more "vertigineux" But... I think it's a bit too dark perhaps.

Beautiful shot, Jan-Carel :) The light is perfect in my opinion :) All the night shots, taken in natural light without flash, are a little red/yellow, but yours is just perfect :)) Bravo!

It is a beautiful photo Jan-Carel.Just enough lighting to accent the architecture and capture the deep blue sky. And did you go inside and make a visit?
