Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Oh oh! Don't blame me dear, but one my incoming posts (in the weeks to come) will include a picture wich is a clone of this one... I don't want to copy your work!... The differences will be that mine goes on the right. (I have to admit also, that yours has better light and details... Sic...) Magnificent macro...

Ice is as different in grain as silica is from decomposed granite sand. The difference in coating is that ice is on plants and sand on animals.

hmmmm...what do we have here? it looks like a snow covered flower! very icy for sure!!! well maybe it's just a very hearty plant or grass of some kind. whatever it is, i automatically like it because it's tough and resilient!! you really capture ice and snow quite well, and i'm very impressed!!! beautiful work!! splat Don't look so surprised, Jan-Carel! I've really been quite the good girl for weeks and now and it hasn't been easy to resist throwing one at you with all these winter scenes you keep showing. and i know if Cindy was here and not in Denver, she'd be throwing one at you too!!! splat...uh...that one's in Cindy's honor!!! hehe!!
