Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Wonderful composition, all of our worlds frequently shrink to a stone's throw the instant our vision is limited. Well illustrated, bravo, well done! V

They just said on the news, that this is the snowiest January in Rhode Island's history. 28 in. and it will be -6F with a windchill of 22 below tonight. But after looking at the "snow polls" on the side of that road. It looks like you are ready for the big stuff!...

Incredible snow walk. Soon his vision will be less than one stone away. Those snow markers on the side indicates how high the snow can be? Excellent capture. Aloha

Like this man tramping back to his hotel or chalet, Jan-Carel, we appreciate the poles which guide us safely back through the dangers, to our real home. A pity we do not take more time to study such guides in our lives, and appreciate all those who have helped us through the years. We would be surprised. Regards, John.
