Description

A "resurrection" of this "old" image, first posted on 24th September 2001 when I was still new here. I dug it out for an overhaul intending to overlay some circular text for the 2D Forum January Theme, but decided in the end not to do this, as there's already so much detail that typography would kill it! For anyone who doesn't already realise, my "resurrections" don't actually have anything to do with the subject of resurrection! They are just improved overhauls of older images. This isn't meant as a substitute for fresh ideas - simply that prints of my work are available on request (just email or IM me) and I want to bring the best of the older images up to the standard I work to now! Thank you as always for viewing and your feedback is much appreciated :-)

MMMMMMMM metal organics :) This is something I love about your work, the fabricated, yet somehow natural 'growing' creations. I especially love the depth in this one :) Thank you so much for resurrecting this and sharing HUGS

@Pascale, funny you should say that because its concept started life as an olympic hurdler in mid-leap ;-)

Extremely interesting image, and it is so good you are motivated to "resurrect," as you say, the images to bring them up to your current standards. I say, BRAVO!! :)

I think this is a significant improvement over the old (but still impressive!) image. The more brassy hue gives the thing a more mechanical feel, like an old long case clock, and the framing looks like some sort of cabinet for the device. So it comes across more as a mysterious machine, something that could have been found in an alien museum of technology. Anyway, brilliant stuff. I think this will have to go on my fave pics list!

This one is truly resurrected Jim! The tones & colours have so much life & depth in this one, it has a greater degree of abstraction to my eyes too & suggests a whole multiplicity of dimensions I'm compelled to explore! Great work ; )

Oh wow, what a difference! This is gorgeous, Jim. Lots of depth and just the right amount of detail to be very satisfying. (It was fun to go back and see the old one, too)

....I will have to go back to view the original image -- but it's an interesting concept -- overhauling old images -- sometimes one can see it fresh and clearly inmprove it -- other times it can lose that original essence -when one starts messing with it -- brings up the idea , to me, that digital art seems to be a much more evolving process than trad art --- a lot harder to repaint an oil -- but ever so tempting to tweak a file!

I've been admiring this picture so many times, and even now I don't have right words for it. I just know that I love the colors, movement, and shapes in it - it brings to my mind every time lots of new ideas! Some day I saw only that energetic movement; the other day the depth behind it, something where to dive, and have a part of the experience of that figure with all it has to give. And that's a lot :-) Axis is for balance, and here everything is in balance. I feel really comfortable - though energetic - when looking at it. Amazing (re)work! hugs
