Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

clapping This is just the view i love...looking upward!! wonderful to look up into such a blue sky!! the song "stairway to heaven" immediately comes into my mind! i guess those mistletoes remind me a bit of steps! and they also remind me a bit of decorations on a Christmas tree!! this tree is very playful says "climb me!" crunch crunch sure is a lot undergrowth out this way! what a joyous capture with a wonderful perspective, jan-carel!! now, i shall finish my search for wild berries here. where's rita???? oh, there you are silly girl!! hey, rita, what's the purple stuff all over your mouth???? peeks in basket hands on hips hey, where's mine???? *grabs her hand, come on girl, let's go find cindy and see if she'll help us look!!! Maybe SHE won't eat all our treasures!!! What a fun image to be inside!!!!! :)

A tree under attack and fighting gloriously. Sic Semper Tyrannis!! Sic Transit Gloria Mundi! Winter, of course, is a difficult time so surprise is complete.

Nice mistletoe, Jan-Carel, but in the middle of winter, it would difficult to persaude one's partner, to stand under it. And with all that mistletoe do lovebirds have to kiss for hours?? Just being whimsical again. Regards, John.

A fantastic shot again, Jan-Carel! The tree looks great against the wonderfully blue sky!

So unreal but so realistic. A simple tree but the complexity of life... We've got very strong symbolism in this picture!

If you can get to it and cut it down you could make some $$ at Christmas time. ;) always nice to have some extra cash for the holidays!!!!

So the misteltoe will eventually kill the tree then? How nasty, like a parasite! This tree looks ancient...Love this 'looking up' angle. Beautiful and informative, perfectly captured =)

Strange visitors, those mistletoes and this tree has lots of them. To many I think.. But.. it makes your picture a special one.
