- Scotland -
The upper and older graveyard around the Kilmartin church was the most impressive cemetery I've ever seen.
Ivy and other plants grow up around the grave stones or monuments which were covered by lichens and moss.
The atmosphere was filled with history and feelings, no feelings of death but of life of the past.
No path leading through the graves and you often have to walk on them with a strange feeling, as if there were voices in the air. Every of my step was accompanied by the thought of "sorry" and "excuse me".

spinning around in my chair I'm sorry to react like this, but i can't help it. This is just one helluva of a capture that completely excites and delights me! Maybe it seems a bit morbid to react like this to a graveyard, but i've always felt comfortable and quite at home being is these "rest areas." Your capture is electrifying!! something about it I can't explain but it makes the hairs rise up on my arms. I'm not scared at all here. this place gives me very good feelings. i don't know what it is i'm seeing and feeling when i jump in your image, but it's almost as if i can almost make out some kind of energy. i can't explain it. this is so beautiful, Rita. i will definitely come back and spend time with this one. Lovely photo, Rita. I like the old, worn, but not overgrown state of this cemetery. I too find them restful, places to be at rest, to meditate in, and to remember and pray for the dead, especially those who have no one to pray for them. Thanks, John.

I am as excited as my sis sheila......... this image is soooooooooo very beautiful in it's own way........... I am one of those who has sought peace and calm sitting in cemetrys for hours togather even at late nights. The Peace I find there, I find no where else. Far from the maddening crowd.;)

I find this sceneries indeed rather impressive and sometimes very depressing..The thoughts of the lifes lost are sometimes hardly to bare, especially when being on such a place. This photograph simply underlines the feelings that can be felt on a graveyard.. great !!
