Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

very nice catch of the reflected light, the natural line at the top could even be repeated at the bottom with a frame :]

HEyyy.. Coincidence.. That looks like the ground I've been walking over for 5 long hours today (but it was with a deep slope). Nice shot and idea, it seems you really like ice, don't you?

Nice shot, especially with the sepia colour of the great River Rhine. I see the shore, so I assume that the sepia is not Post work, just the river's own colour, Jan-Carel. I hope that Phillipe ( PIMBOTIN ) will not to try walking on this river ice. We would miss his words and photos so. Regards, John.

One of the fun things for a German is to find out in Los Angeles there is no lightning and no thunder. There is no mafia either but that is another story. Ice, floes and pressure ridges, sitting and talking with the former captain of the USS Glacier on the 5th floor looking out about launching to the moon, he insists he knows the way.
