Description
...to Saint Francis Auditorium, I experienced my first Chamber Music Concert in Santa Fe. The first evening of my arrival, there was a performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons here. One entered directly into the Auditorium (actually, a rebuilt-in-side-of-the-museum Mission style church with amazing acoustics)through heavy wooden doors from the sidewalk. I have been in this museum before but when there is no concert, the gates and doors are locked, presumably to preserve the several hundred year old wooden pews from unnecessary wear and tear. The wood is so worn that the patina literally glows from generations of use...
As the concert was about to begin, people from all walks of life joined together in anticipation of a joyful sound. And were not disappointed.....

that patina glow is a forceful thing, isn't it? lots of doors and gates from you. doors are symbols of many things, i hear. passage, gateways, growth, mystery... i really like how involved you are with what your shooting. matters more than any other consideration in your work. impulsive treatment, but sometimes it can really capture the passion and immediacy of the moment.

there's just something about doors and gates that i love. and this is certainly no exception. superb image. i love the missions in NM, AZ and CA. the sense of so many souls in the quiet of the mission...Vivaldi could only add to the atmosphere!
