Description

The Great Plains is dotted with numerous small prairie towns and, in general, within a mile or two of them is usually a small airport. Usually, land and facilities are purchased either by a group of small plane owners, who have pooled their resources, and sometimes the land has been donated by the nearby town and the facilities (such as they are) are leased to the local pilot's association or to the individual owners of the airplanes. The farther west you go into the Great Plains, the more this you are likely to see these small somewhat informal airports--even in communities of under a thousand residents. Out in places like western Kansas, you are as far from Kansas City as you are from Denver. A lot of the small businessmen and more prosperous ranchers own their own planes and often fly off to one of those big cities for a weekend. Here, Tom, Des, and their adult daughter, Judy, are making an early Saturday morning departure for Denver and won't return until late Sunday evening or maybe even not until the next day. Credits: Render: Bryce 5 Figures: Poser 5 Grass: Transpond's Grasslands (Thanks, Chris and Judith!). Aircraft: Peter Bratt models (Thanks Peter!), but retextured by me. Lo-poly small prairie town, airport fascilities, and background terrain by me. Bryce Sky: "Glorious Morning." Sorry, don't know who created it, but thanks Whoever for one of my favorites. And thank you to you for taking the time to look and to comment. It is always deeply appreciated. Jeremy

The high winged, tricycle geared, Cessna one of the truest planes ever made, that is if you just let go of the controls in calm weather it'll fly straight and level.

While I agree with you about the Cessna, bu4ch, the model is supposed to be a Piper Mohawk.
