Description

My last render before a bit of a break. And my last "angry guy" render. As an avid V3 fan, it's been a bit of a suprise to find that rendering males is actually a lot more interesting and satisfying (although you only get 1/10th of the hits :-) I think the skin on this fella is pretty close in the realism stakes. It's HyperReal M3 with a very tiny tweak to the specular - basically tightening up the oiliness of the skin that is not camera-facing (ie. back behind his ear). His head was morphed in ZBrush2. You can see I've shortened his forehead so much that his forehead wrinkles are on top of his head now! Brute-force eye shadows got a little lost when I brightened his eyewhites a lot - needs a fix. And for teeth there are some depth-mapped shadows, but you can see the colateral damage on his neck. Suggestions for improvement gratefully received....

Looks really good, the skin on the chin is definitely crazy great. I think you have approached an amazing amount of realism with poser. This is great

I agree, men are more interesting to render and you only get a fraction of the hits, but then, where's the fun in that? Great render as always... Deane

You know, this is just excellent work. And the really great aspect about it is that its getting a lot of us to improve our skin textures whether thru your wonderful product or experimenting ourselves. You've opened doors for us all! My little crit on this would be his upper lip. For some reason it just doesn't seem to be mapping the same way or maybe at the same resolution as the rest of the facial skin which is just so outstanding. That's the only impression that's catching my eye. Again...incredible work! -jay

The skin & Eyes & texture & everything looks very real. But the teeth & Gums do let it down a bit. Unfortunately you are so far in front of me I've got no Idea what they need to look more real. The only thing I can think of is that maybe teeth that colour wouldn't be that shiny. They would have more of a matt finish. If they were a perfect row of bright white teeth then maybe they would shine like that. & the gums probably need to have less detail Or maybe less Light highlights. Anyway I dont know!?! It looks friggen great! Any chance of a HyperREAL A3 in the future? Matt:-)

i've really enjoyed watching you develop SSS and the thinking behind it. Had fun watching you wrestle with eyes and teeth as well. both eyes and teeth are coated with fluid, to varying degrees. i imagine this would soften the edges a great deal. This render is excellent and your work has been excellent. Not just an excellent product, but an education and a challenge for artists like myself.

I have also enjoyed watching you experiment, pushing the limits! I never have much to add as far as improvments in your renders, I just look at them in awe as you capture so much realism in P5! I have learned much from you working on the HyperREAL series, you pushed me beyond my own boundaries of texturing and made me learn the nodes in P5 whether I wanted to or not LOL. Congratulations to you and your soon to be wife! Have a wonderful weekend and see ya when you get back ;-)

hello, masterful and hyper real artwork ;-)! Texturing is outstanding. Cool to see your experiments.. now I am curious, does this mean that hyperREAL also works with male figures like M? Super realism you achive in your renders!

Great facial expression. I totally go with the upper part - d.... good eyes. I also like the teeth with the bit oh shape on them. Don't know about the colour of the gums ? The lips have been commented. Of course, though, it is terrific work.

VERY realistic. You can actually see faded pockmarks. The only wierd thing is the gums... they seem to dark and cloudy.

I think bluliner is on the track...at some point all these perfected parts will have to be blended together with fluids or focal blur depending on the render. Perhaps the mesh itself will be the limits on how close you can render.

Very nice render, I like the glossines and yellowish tint on the teeth, the eyes look great as well and skin as usual is perfect :)
