Description
Steam Vents: There are many steam vents at Kilauea Volcano. This steam vent (easily seen) is located on the way to the sulfur bank. Beauty and curiosity will always draw you to take a closer look. ""DON'T"" You should always stay on the trail as some of the steam vents are hidden with vegetation and they are dangerous. On July 17, 1996, a 10 year old boy slipped into one of these steam vents at the sulfur banks. He was scalded with second degree burns. Another couple wasn't so lucky. Husband and wife fell in. He was able to climb out but unfortunately, she did not make it out. They recovered her body about a day or more later. Aloha and thank you for viewing

Now those are some frightening facts! I'm very surprised at how the plantlife doesnt seem to mind the steam. I agree with Akemi, you are brave, and by the looks of this, the vents are not easy to see cuz the plants are growing around them, watch your step my friend!! Amazing and wonderful capture =)
