Description

Done last night came a quick drawing/painting in PSP 7 due to frustration ( will tell the story) and so its all basically done by throwing color on a blank canvas and proceeding to smugde it around between various degrees of paintbrush sizes and smudge sizes! ALL donly only with a mouse from nothing but my scary immagination. Thanks to Zacko - (Andreas) for the wonderful frame) THis is the story of the hamster hell. (whispers forgive me but -would appreciate no comments on theological God/demon.hell stuff...hehe hey I went to Bible college- was a missionary and know what the good book says about hell ..and do not hate hamsters in anyway -shape or form -and do not think of them as demonic like - lol) This is just simply my way of painting out my frustration last night. My life had turned into a hamster nightmare from the time I brought cute lil' Butterfingers the' teddy bear hamster home for my daughter's birthday. It was supposed to be a wonderful thing. I decided that Butterfingers (girl)was lonely(didn't know that they live better alone -so they don't infact kill one another_) anyways SHE looked sad in the little cage and O I thought SHE needed a companion . So Snickers followed ..(boy) The next week I heard it-ALOUD SHRIEKING SCREAM from my daughter with a shaking open hand.. There wasa little wiggaly thing that had managed to appear from the other hamster. - plopped right out and onto her hand . She thought it was a monster at first. Pink wrinkled baby about the size of a dime. The next week butterfingers ate all five of the offspring due to the whole being touched by a human thing. AT that point ,I thought it might be a wise choice to seperate the boy and girl hamsters ...SO bought a new cage for snickers. but..the damage had been done. This time 12 pink tiny Wiggaly things looked up with beady eyes from a toietpaper nest. NOt long after that the babies Had babies - before I COULD seperate them . Then MORE babies had babies.. THe HAMSTER HELL started!!! Soon 20 cages lined the hall (kids' couldn't have them in thier rooms -made too much noise at night )and so tiny little varmits flooded my hallway. WE were the new town zoo. kids came from everywhere but couldn't take one home cause they had a cat or a mother that didn't agree with the idea. Had to cut up lots of fresh veggies .Cucumbers sunflowerseeds woodchips . everywhere woodchips !!.... -then the HELL REALLY started.- The little rodent rascles found clever ways to get out of the cages that decorated my hall. They found hiding spots. One of the big hiding spots was behind the old antique wooden dresser that had broken in the back. My life now consisted of finding the escapees. I knew one litter was behind the "big hiding spot", and so did the natural thing and reached back and instead of a hamster got a thumbfull of antique wood . A hundred years of dresser splintered under my thumbnail.. too many to count. I could hear there tiny sqeaks back at the laughing and mocking me as they cried out HAHHA you CANT cacthhh usss" in sing-song. It didn't stop there.. each hamster had to now have its own cage and on and on. thier own wheel. pet stores were full -not taken any. No one called from the add in the paper. I fantised about letting them free out in the walsh to be happily ever after but couldnt do it. OK so - found homes for all but five . Loads of experianced PR work and sales ability to give them away for FREE... LOL you ask me why I didn't get rid of them all well, go look at the puppy face of "Chrissy in sunlight" in my gallery and that will tell you . SO last night I painted this picture because Butterfingers, (the one who started it all) escaped three days ago - no sign of her anywhere ..just a few droppings here or there to torment me. thanks for reading about my Hamster hell LOL it was real fun to share it and paint it~!!

very funny and excellent painting. I had a similar experience with a hamster. I thought the little plugger had died and I put him in the apartment trash can. about that time I saw it move so I climb in the trash bin and got it out. well it would not move again so out to the can again. I never looked back. at the same apartments a neighbor boy took a little dog of a neighbor but when the owner threaten to call the police, the mother gave it back. the little boy felt so bad with no pet, he went down to the pond and brought a bloody duck home and was keeping it in the tub. I moved so I never knew what became of the duck-Vote

Ooooh, ooooh, oooh, I get to make this comment first (I didn't see it above) - You lived out The TROUBLE WITH TRIBBLES. Heee hee. Kim this is great artwork and a great story to go with it. I was laughing out loud reading it. Wonderful. And the artwork is great. Now, let me tell you what the Bible says about Hamsters, Hell, and Tribbles... No, just joking. LOL. Great story, and more of your wonderful art to go with it. WAY TO GO!! Keep up the good work - it's as fun getting to know you as it is to see your artwork. Blessings again, S.

The pic and story are a classic....found myself both laughing hysterically and feeling your pain at the same time grin. These amazingly tender glimpses into your family that you share here are a warm and wonderful thing to behold....and your artwork has a charm unique and all unto itself. Enchanting tale..thank you for sharing it. VOTE

lol!!! very funny story!! went through that with my own daughter... they chewed right through the plastic cage, would see them out of the corner of my eye run by... found they had built a nest in the couch! ...had so many different pets... her poor rabbit got caught by the dog, the turtles stunk, the fish & baby possum died... sigh... snake lived quite awhile, but you know what you have to feed snakes & she never did like that part... anyway, luv your paint sketching & expression of the evil little hamster! (shame you have to add a disclosure, even the most lighthearted of images can cause controversary... lol) :]

So that's what a Teddy Bear hamster looks like. ;) Just about anyone with children has a pet story gone bad but yours is a doozie!! It's tough to have pets and a heart, too! But it makes for a great story and fine interpretive art!! Excellent image and remember Have your pets spayed or neutered (lol) ~V~

I dont usually read much prose.. mostly technical litterature as part of my work.. but then sometimes. .. and recently more and more often after starting to frequent your gallery I have been reading your little stories. As Diane603 says you have a way with words .. you really should consider writing a book. Your words are very captivating, and creates wonderful images in the minds of the reader (and from the comments it seems that lots share the same feeling). And regarding the painting; it is FANTASTIC .. sometimes it is hard to praise a work in words to really say how beautiful it is, but this is such a work. Lovely fiery coloring, develish hamster facial expression LOL You are very talented. *V
