Hmmmm, perhaps this shot is a bit simple. But I am so attracted by those subtle variations in light, reflection and texture on the snow that I decided to post this one. Some animals left tracks on the background.

It is not simple at all Jan. There are a wealth of complexities and subtleties in this photo. It is elegantly beautiful, a scene to contemplate. I really like the way the blue shadows seems to wrap around the mounded snow in the center as if it is of some special importance. Any idea what left the tracks in the snow?

yeah, those shadows are highly unusual but very beautiful! almost looks a bit surreal...like they have a life all their own. reminds me of water flowing on the snow. maybe there are some deer around. they must be hiding there in the woods!!! beautiful capture, jan-carel!!! splat :) sorry...no snow here!! had to steal some of yours!!!!!!
