Description

Looking Back: Looking back with all the lava pictures I posted, the real action was behind me. Lava on both sides of me? Do you think? Yes, much lava is flowing under me thru lava tubes. You might be able to see the red glow in the steam during day light but believe me, you will definitely see it glow in the dark. A little shift in wind is blowing this acid cloud slightly towards me. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

Sheila, Lava tubes are formed when the extraction of molten lava flows beneath the harden lava surface leaving a hollow tube. These tubes can be very long. There are many lava tubes from another volcano called Mauna Loa. In past eruption of this large volcano, they feared that lava might travel underground towards Hilo (my home town). Luck was with Hilo.
