Poor Old Dog J. M. Strother Poor old dog, Dragging at the end of the leash. I thought it would be fun, A walk. What dog doesn't like a walk? What a treat. Alas, he's more out of shape than me. Now he's limping, And still, a half mile from home. Poor old dog. Poor old me. I have to carry him home. Dog, you need to lose weight!

This is a mixture of funny sad. It is like slipping on the sidewalk on ice. It is funny looking back, yet at the time, it hurt.

Like the rest of us, dogs get old, only faster. This poor old guy just had three teeth pulled. Ouch. He seems to have taken it all in stride. I'm embarrased to see that I mispelled lose in the last line. Oh well.

I love this ... my old girl is blind, with a pinched nerve in her back. She once guided me, now I guide her. I especially love the last line, I know it would make my old girl giggle as well ... if she could read :]
