Description
Still in the abandoned Welsh slate mine of previous postings, about 20 feet (6m) up on one of the chamber walls was this pulley - probably used in conjunction with one of the winches and chains for lifting slate blocks onto trucks.
Had some fun trying to get enough light on this due to its hight and the flash batteries being virtually dead (after all the other shots)!!
I liked the rust and contrast between the pulley and the slate wall.
What do you think? Your comments would be appreciated.

It is a very cool shot....sounds like you were quite adventurous getting it! The contrast between the rust and rock is very nice, and the composition really works.

You been stuck down this mine since March 25th Kelvin? :) (Your last posting). Seriously, I love the shot. Flash batteries flat. If you have a tripod and a lamp. Switch on your lamp, press the shutter release and paint the subject with light and you should get a decent image. You may have to colour correct later. No tripod, prop the camera up somewhere suitable. I once shot 200 shots inside a Monastry by just standing the camera on suitable window cills and furniture and guess aiming the camera. You can always remember the angle of the camera, preview and if not correct adjust the angle to suit.

In reply to escafeld, I would have liked to be stuck down there for a week, sadly been too busy at work 8( By the time I came to take this picture I had been underground so long I was down to just my helmet sidelight - barely enough to light a bats armpit! 8) But I will try your suggestions next time, be interesting to see the colour balance it generates. Cheers
