Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

OH MY GOD!!! This is one of your very best if you ask me. What an incredible mood in this one. And what moving words you wrote. Just know you never need to feel lonely around here. You got plenty of friends at this place #:o)

When I saw the title of Your post, the first thing I wanted to say was: with such an impressing light in the atmosphere, how can You feel alone? But the answer is given in Your comment. People suffer from loneliness, because they are afraid to be confrontated with their own minds. Even here in renderosity there are many people who seem to be very loneley. We have to go back to loneliness to get to know ourselves. Then we are free.

Jan-Carel, I applaud you both on the picture and on your openness here! Such spiritual experiences are never forgotten, although they sometimes dim with time, but you have this photo as a permanent reminder of our wonderful God, and now we all get to share it. I once saw the Northern Lights too and will never forget the experience - unfortunately I didn't had a means of recording it as I was only a child on my own...

just amazed at this totally BREATHTAKING photography!!!!!!! and the story behind it gives me gooesebumps and brings tears bo my eyes. God spoke to you exactly when you needed to hear him and said exactly what you needed to hear!!! thank you for sharing this experience with us!!! I know i was lonely for most of my life until i met kemal just 9 years ago. i never DREAMED anyone could ever fall in love me. I never DREAMED anyone could love me just the way i am! and i never dreamed i would find someone i loved just as much! i waited almost a lifetime for him, and it believe me, it was WORTH the wait!!!!!!! There's a reason for your waiting!!!!!! that loneliness you talk about...yep...sure does take a LOT of courage to talk about it, and I'm glad you did!!! It helps to share with others. Not only does it help relieve the pain, but it also helps others know they're not alone! This is a verrrrrrry special image!!!! Not only is it a helluva a capture, but it's also a wonderful expressionistic piece which is perfect for sharing! into favs! p.s. would be another fabulous entry into the monthly challenge!

I like the dark contrast of the trees silhouetted along the bottom of the picture. Thanks for sharing your incredible photo of the Northern Lights and your spiritual experience of the evening! When we go through those lonely times, it's great to have a special expression of how much God loves us!

I was ( I will not say alone ) Single for 10 years before my wife and I found each other - Remember there is some walking this earth at this moment that will be that special person in your life - Putting faith aside for a moment - you still are not alone you just have not found each other yet - Do not act out of desperation - Know what kind of person is searching for ( if uncertin look inside yourself you will find that you know exactly ) When you are ready without realization you will begin to search tierlessly until one day with out a word being spoken you will see a person - meet - and without a doubt in your mind you will know your search has ended - Your photo is truely Devine !

And inspired image -- and inspired story. The spirit of the divine truly touched you at this moment in time. What a glorious way to make it's presence felt. Wether it be God, Allah, Jehova, Yahwe, Krishna, Buddha, or whatever we choose to label it, it showed you in this moment that you are never truly alone. Thank you for baring a part of your soul here for us. Most of us have gone through this I think. I was alone for many years before meeting my wife. In other relationships I was never sure, but when I met her, I was sure. My 32 year wait was over. I agree with SoulEatar that there is someone for everyone....it just takes some longer to find their soul mate. Until then, eyes to the heavens, and take comfort there.

Fantastic!!!! wonderful!!! Bravo!

what a magnificent capture!!! I feel lucky to view this because I have never seen the northern lights in person. Relationships has advantages, but being single also. sometimes it is only a fine line between the two. what if you are with someone but yet lonely for companionship. things can be good but also they can be terrible. there is an old song here in the states "your day will come" but then again you may wish it not to be.
blacq_nyght_vampyre
I could write a novel on what you wrote up there!! Very amazing writing and picture!! Excellent.

Don't give up hope my friend...the Lord will provide in his own time. Lonliness can be a gift or burden..our choice to choose. When the time is right love will find you, mean while enjoy your time and remember "He" is always with you as proven by this wonderful capture. This is so superb and fits the moment just perfectly. Keep the faith my friend, God will provide...Aloha to you!
