This is a splendid capture Matt the dark background suits the species perfectly I have only ever seen these in Ireland in the dark peat bogs

Nice work matt! You know a little smoke will usually settle these guys down. Maybe next time you decide to work with bugs you should lite up a stogie and and blow sweet nothings in his ear. Most often this will work and they become still and very posable. KP

This is one beautiful beetle.... like gwfa, I'd like to see more dof..... but I do understand that with a moving subject and lack of available light this can be an impossible thing! Great job regardless.... I think it's a great shot!
