Canon EOS 10D, Canon 28-135IS lens at 47mm
ISO 400, 1/160 sec at f4
I don't know what kind of flower this is, hence the silly title on this photo. If you know what it is, please leave me a comment. Photo was taken in Hershey Gardens, Pennsylvania in 2003 while on vacation.
Starting tomorrow, I will upload a few photos taken during the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC over the last 5 days. I had a wonderful visit there, but I am very tired from walking many miles each day, carrying camera gear.

The DOF is brilliant! I not only love the purple, but the background colour adds a nice touch too. Beautifully clear and sharp! cant wait to see your pics from the Cherry Blossom festival =)

I thought liatris,too,at first, but it could also be russian sage(something like 'perovskia'is the sci name ).It's a beautiful shot,regardless.
