Description

...or "Spiny love". ...or "Spine chiller"... or "Spineless love" ...or "I will always love you!" ..or anything you can think :-) Painted in PhotoShop. I try to get this accepted also for 2D forum's April Theme - although I know there's actually no flowers, only a cactus with spines... Thank you so much for looking! Comments are always greatly appreciated! :-)

WOW Titta, this is really scary! Wakes up a lots of scenarios in me of men who think they "own" their women. This gives me goosebumps! So very well done with that alluring blue sky and all that looks so beautiful, but.....that cactushead and the hands say it all. Super work!!!

When I saw this, I thought of abusive relationships straight away! Men beating up women!! That's definitely how it makes me feel here! Her expression is so sad and his grab on her shoulder so authoritarian!! Another excellent piece of art! This could be used for a campaign against domestic violence!!

Not necesarily beating up, but after the love is gone and the touch is no longer wanted, but she feels no way out. ~lost

Again it's taking me a while to formulate a decent comment from the depth of feeling this engenders... but above all I see a woman who perceives a largely unfeeling man and is now distinctly uneasy about his touch. "I do love you" sounds hollow and she would touch him about as readily as she would touch the spikes of the cactus - not if she can help it! Alternatively, maybe there really is love from his side but she can no longer return it even if she might wish she could - then at the other extreme is what Pascale saw, the chilling touch of the wife-beater. See? It can work on so many levels, the way your art routinely does ;-) hugs

Very interesting body language and dynamics taking place. Cacti are interesting succulents as they can survive with little water, growing in mostly barren soil. Other flora require more water, richer soil, and more temperate conditions. What I see here are two beings unsuited to live in the other's milieu. Excellent artwork.

This is amazing work Titta, I see so much power in those hands & intensity of feeling in the woman's expression, this captures so well all the dynamics of love with all the subtle interactions that lie below the surface. Wonderful use of colour too & the cactus adds the perfect surreal touch, one to look at & ponder over & over!

Donning my Jungian hat: Helplessly in the grip of a relationship with an outwardly respectable guy who is, however, quite insensitive (he only sees things in black and white), getting too close to him can be a prickly experience. No wonder she looks perplexed. I've probably got it all wrong - that's surrealism.

You tell as interesting story again! Picture is fantastic piece of art; cloud , woman, cactushead, atmosphere and everything on it so exellent done. Probably cactushead says: " You have to trust me now, im not drinking any more!".

My first impressions was this was fun as I enjoyed the colours and the cactus, then I caught the expression and the hand. Now I become concerned and reading some of the comments my impression is turned on its head. A super image Titta creating so many mixed feelings for me

...I like this 'cactus head' painting ( as I am partial to cacti ) --- I might have made his head a bit bigger --- failing that -- I like the thumb crop I saw in the forum --- but still -it's very cool - like Magritte with a twist!
