Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 Here's the image I entered in the last fractal themed challenge and it actually won - woohoo! Thanks, everyone! First time one of mine won, let alone even placed - some amazingly talented artists in those contests! I was lucky to be working on this when the theme was announced. I'd been working toward an impression/vibe like opposing chess pieces. I might tweak this one later and maybe add a dim, planed "chess board" in the light, swirly area at the right. If I can make myself go back to it. I get a bad case of "been there, done that" and have to force myself to redo an image - always too jazzed about whatever new one I'm making - lol. Thanks for stopping by - "rook to king's pawn 2 - checkmate"! :-)

Yes, it was an image, only you could have made and even the title is an artwork. A bitter sweet melody with breath taking colours textures forms depth and composition... and really the best interpretation of the task:-) vote

The contrast between the sharp jagged edges of the spiral sector with the smooth undulating cream surface on the right is marvellous Rykk ! The twin spirals with their different personalities are also a delight to see . Exquisite stUFf and thanx for sharing your wonderful image - C-ya , Mike !

This is really an exceptional piece! Please tell me, the center of the upper large spiral - was it intended to be finite? Or is it just a maxiter thingie?

I really enjoy the contrasting shapes of the two fractals. The background appears to be molded and peeling off the back, a fantastic illusion and a grand fractal! V (=

All your work knocks my socks off, but this one is my all-time (so far) favorite. I love everything about it; AWEsome! In particular, I like the exciting perspective and sense of scale..and the way the awesome composition of beautifully detailed spiral designs move. The palette is so appealing to me, as is the lighting- very nice play between the lighter and darker areas. The textures are perfect. Outstanding piece of artwork, Rick. Congrats on the well-deserved win!
