Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 Here's the image I entered in the last fractal themed challenge and it actually won - woohoo! Thanks, everyone! First time one of mine won, let alone even placed - some amazingly talented artists in those contests! I was lucky to be working on this when the theme was announced. I'd been working toward an impression/vibe like opposing chess pieces. I might tweak this one later and maybe add a dim, planed "chess board" in the light, swirly area at the right. If I can make myself go back to it. I get a bad case of "been there, done that" and have to force myself to redo an image - always too jazzed about whatever new one I'm making - lol. Thanks for stopping by - "rook to king's pawn 2 - checkmate"! :-)

Superb thought piece-- I don't think I'm ever going to view your work as totally abstract again. I'm looking at the tiny echos of the bottom spiral in the top one and thinking about how all opposing ideologies include aspects of each other in their opposition. The fragmented, shattering edges are my favorite element. You always make me think deeper than I really want to this early in the morning.:)) Truly a great win, from a great winner. Thank you for taking Fractals this far.

I played around with some fractal but never quite got the hang of it. I do know this- it's harder than it looks, and it don't look easy. I love this image with it's multitude of textures and materials. From paper to metal to fabric. Or so it looks to me. Excellent. VV

I like this. It was a good selection for a challenge. It looks like a natural graceful steps going into a canyon, catacombs, or something like that.

WOW and more WOW!!!! Absolutely AWESOME! AND, I love your commentary - as I can relate to it so well! LOL!!! I have discovered that some of my best work emerged from a former 'finished' image, where I got out of the 'box' of the former energy, and WOW - I even amazed myself at times at the result! We artists are really so blessed to have the ability to create in the ways that we do. :D

Gorgeous, Gorgeous, Gorgeous!!! I adore the veining in the right corner. Such beautiful detail down to the outlining and lighting. Just add my mahogany chessboard and a deep, rich merlot colour and this is my living room palette, lol. Wonderful work!
