Certainly one of your best works. The lighting changes you made were a big improvement. I think there is always a balance to be found between 100% realism and art. I think the brooding cloud alpha and low ambient light is what makes this such a striking image. Again the fact a large ship would not dock so close to shore is made redundant by the wonderful interplay between the rigging of the two ships. Any sacrifice to realisim here has huge artistic merit, you have found a perfect balance. A visual feast and a big vote!

I would prefer less darkness (contrast) to the image. That being said, The amount of hard work and attention to detail you have put in make it a very special piece of art.Congrats...Tony.

Right sky, wrong sky? Realism? Art? Who cares? Ijust know that I am enjoying the heck out of this render, Ken! Love all that you have going on here...the work you put into this is inspiring! BUT...I can't wait to see IF you could maybe squeeze a crew of twenty or so sailors into this one...LOL!

lighting in this one is much better for showing all the amazing details you put in there, though i like the darker previous version as well!!! awesome shadows on the wall to the right!!! outstanding work!!!

Alot of work, but I think you do yourself bad by not having it lighter out on the dock. Keep up the fine work.

that's incredible how your previous became this masterpiece!! really beautiful image!! fit for print & framing!!! :] (my monitor is set a bit lighter i think then most so the light looks perfect to me!!)
