Description

Back already with a new picture! Incredible :) I really enjoyed making my previous image "Lost", using photographic- and CG elements and my Wacom tablet to create a surreal scenery. It's quite a challenging process plus I can enhance my drawing skills :)... and the result is (perhaps) more realistic than with Vue? The sky and all the fog/clouds is for example this time completely hand drawn. It's not my usual Vue d'Esprit stuff, but I hope you like it just the same. Comments and critique is very welcome. Best regards, Thomas Created in Photoshop/Vue

I think this is amazing! Its like a hidden world! The use of hand drawing on it for clouds and fog is a great plus in this. Its just beautiful and a great render. Well done!

You've done an amazing job combining the different elements and they all flow together seemlessly. Really top notch work Thomas!

A road that I plant to travel as well thomas...matte painting...this is quite good my friend! My only crit would be that the perspective oof the left foreground roofs is a bit whacked. Your sky painting is excellent and much fun , yes?

Kenwas - A bit wacked? :D Yeah, you're probably right, but I wasn't able to take some photos especially for this picture, so I had to use what's availible... along with their perspective. I've done my best to transform and align them... And yeah, it's great fun to paint skies and clouds. You can really experiment with size and colour. Thanks for commenting everyone.

It's hard when I am not sure what is a photo and what is 3d...so are the buildings a photo? Did those roofs look that way? Beyond the yellow rooves.. roofs... ACK! spelling? - the tops of buildings!... the feeling and quality is TOPS!! Your painting skills for the sky and fog is incredible!! The plane is FLYING BY so I can almost hear it! :)

Gorgeous, Thomas, what a feeling of vertigo and movement; excellent painting. I would really be interested to hear how you did the roofs and rooftiles; I think they look very real, I've often seen old roofs like that, especially in Italy.

Fabulous! Don't mind Ken, sometimes his perspective is "Off" too! ;) Excellent image! Reminds me of the movie about Shangrala!

Fantastic composition. The clouds came out pretty good. It's hard to say what's real and what's painted. Although I suppose you've done a bit of postwork on some of the real objects too. WWII? That plane looks more fit for WWI to me. Excellent.
