Description

Hey everyone! This pic was taken the same day as "The Maid On The Shore". It is not the same shot.Raven 427(Tom) said it would be better to see what Meg was looking at.When I looked at this pic again I thought it had a surrealistic look,so I decided to heighten that effect. There was a thread in the forum about a lack of surrealism.Well here's my attempt. :) Hope you're all enjoying your weekend. And thanks for all your comments on my previous post.-Marlene

I also think that this picture is surreal. It is not usual in a good meaning. I think that it is also interesting that person's position has come off from the center slightly. Beautiful colors and focus.

an odd perspective line with the sea on the horizon makes it gives a small sense of falling, the standing of the woman on the frame is sublime!

Still waters run very deep as I know what your referring to and I have just had my little spout and the more I think about it, the more I realize the storm needs to move on so we can get back to creativity. . .

Yay, there it is!!! A coloured one from that time and place, and MY GOD WOMAN IT IS STUNNING!!! Just love how it looks like shes standing on your frame. Gorgeous sea as well, in three colours going from deepblue, to a more greenish tone and finally that foam. Really nice indeed. Perfect clarity and contrast. BEAUTIFUL INDEED!!! Have a wonderful weekend #:O)

The Title fits it to a "T"...reminding Me of a Giant TV Screen...and Surrealism is difficult with just one Photo...but...I believe You have accomplished :]

this is my 2nd time to look at this, Marlene. sometimes i need a lot of time to process images and them sink in. what you've acheived in this image is incredible! She looks like she's standing on the edge of Time...in one dimension...and looking out at another....kinda like looking at one of those big screens in a cinema. I have the feeling she's deciding whether or not she wants to STEP INTO this world...kinda like making an important decision when you're trying to decide what path to choose. I wonder will she step in and walk along the beach or will she turn away and wave goodbye. helluva an image Marlene!!!! so creative and girl...i'm soooooooo glad i found you in this world!!!!!! i LOVE looking at your images and seeing the world through your eyes! Can't wait to see the next one! have a great weekend! hugggzzzz

This makes me think of the Belgian surrealist painter RenMagritte. http://www.atara.net/magritte/60s/lunette-approche.html or http://classes.berklee.edu/llanday/fall01/ways/IseeYou.htm I think you could have her take another step back ... or even have some ocean spill out of the picture.

Cool idea,MGD.I am familiar with Magritte so I will take that as a compliment.Thank you.I'm a big fan of his. However,Matasabu(see above) is much closer to Magritte than I. :)

Yep - to me it's way better this way. Having her standing on the edge is the idea of a genius but even without that, i'd like this image a lot better. One final nagging: she seems to be looking to the right so it wqould be no bad idea to have her in the left third of the image. You know the rule of thirds? Also the horizon seems somewhat tilted and maybe is ot centered (?)? Sorry for constantly nagging ... but thanks for posting this one!! :)

Ok! I would straightened that horizon line that's a 'lil tilted and I would place the girl on the left or on the right but not in the middle! Other than that, I love the pic and its feeling of freedom! I can almost feel the refreshing sea air in my lungs!! I miss the sea so much! Ur exposure looks perfect to me here and the colors are deep and rich and beautiful!! Great work on this Marlene! :)
