Description

Scotland, Ben Nevis - This is a shot near the summit and the only view I had for 3 hours! Lost In CLOUDS, wet and cold and the path very steep. Stones and clouds, stones and clouds and the same again with no end! And I still hoped for a better view. After every corner and curve (there were 1000)I hoped to be on the summit, but it always was a disappointment to notice that I didn't reach it. I almost cried and wanted to give up! What do I do here? What will I get at the end? NOTHING??? I needed all my strength to get on the summit. And I didn't give up because I had a hard way behind me and I am a person who leads a thing to the end what I once began. Many thanks for your interest and left comments. Have a better day! ;o))))

Though very disappointing not to be able to view the distant surounding after a long and difficult climb, we must not forget all the previous beautiful photographs you have shared with us. Maybe there is a lesson for us to learn from this sad experience, but what it is, is to each their own interpretation who views this photograph.

Ouch and OH! Yes, the misty mood is wonderful..and the rocks- though sharp threatening, are really quite beautiful; love the different shapes and colors. Your arduous hike and persistance inspire me!

Know the feeling - but as long as weather-conditions are not dangerous it's hard to make good decisions, will it be top of Scotland or not? It's not easy to return here another time to try again, but the disappointment of seeing nothing at all is a hard thing to face (a good reason to invent something like whisky LOL)!

Respect, that you coped this hard way, the nature has it's own rules... I think it was a good experience anyway?

You have indeed accomplished more than most people have in their life time. There is always another day and this will motivate you for more. This picture you have capture is very intense. One could sure get lost up there and you have all the proof that the elements of danger exist. The rocky terrain is very interesting yet a mistake could be very dangerous. Your journey have motivated me to do more. Excellent job you have done. Keep on Hiking. Aloha

Looks like a typical day on Nevis to me! from the times I've been it's a rarity to have good visibility. Great photo, brought back lots of good memories for me!

Yes the trail looks difficult and it makes the hike that much harder without a view for satisfaction, but satisfaction will come from knowing you hung on and made it to the top. The mountain has a beauty all to itself even shrouded in cloud. Looks like a trail that will never end because the end is hidden by the clouds. Excellent!!!!!! V

Looks like something from the Lord of the Rings! It must've been hard to keep going - the best reward for climbing mountains is the view from the top, and you don't have much of a view here :)

LOL.I knew Andreas would love this...I heard the trek up Ben Nevis was difficult and you are soooo proving that with this photo journal of yours.I also heard most of the time when you get to the top you can't see a damn thing!Hope this turns out better for you than that!Guess I'll just have to wait and see... :)
