Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Fantastic shots. The lady's bed must have been very high? Hope she is alright. Aloha

An amazing sequence! I also love the various positions of the other photographer there! lol! (Sometimes it's almost as funny to photograph another photographer as it is to capture an event itself - not that this is a funny event, but you know what I mean!) I do hope she's OK..

It's not Mt. Everest but the gesture is noble. I have fallen out of bed from a top bunk and know the way of passage. Excellent shots.

Excellent reportage, bravo !!!

Excellent advice! On most shoots while driving around the camera sits in the passenger seat lense in and ready to fire. Probably not the best idea, but in a timing situation such as this it makes all the difference. Nice sequence of events here...too bad for the lady, hope she recovered ok...Aloha~

Are you the guy taking shots in the pictures or are you the guy who shot him and the rest of the scene?

What FANTASTIC images, Jan-Carel!!!!! love that first one how the "thingy" is spinning in the back!!!! Wow!!! I shoot manually most of the time, but it takes me a bit of time to get my settings right sometimes. not always, but if i'm nervous, then it takes me even longer. like when i saw this snake on vacation. i was shakin' and stuff. Anyway, yeah, timing...have your cam ready at all times...have the card IN your camera (i'm bad about having mine out), and make sure it's charged!!! You really did an awesome job with this pictures! those last two are wonderful too!!! i love seeing the blades spin! you got the timing perfect!!!!!
nongo
Boy, you were right there to document this situation weren't you???? excellent timing on your part!!!!

I stopped and took pictures of a possible hostage taking from a armed robbery, but the police(about 35-40) had nothing but a drill because he(robber) had already flown the coop. the police had sharp shooters and full riot gear, heliocopters/ commend center and a riot vehicle. the robber got $3200.00. luckily the people in the store was not injured
