Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

I haven't tried filters. Like to keep the picture to the orignal as I saw it without adjustment. Then again, I'm new to the game. Aloha

There is "reality just as it is", you're right. But there is also "reality as it could have been". Explanation: Everybody knows USA western parks, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, etc... If you're lucky an go there on a day where humidity allows you to catch all the depth of these incredible colors, you'll get this kind of deep red and blue shots we all know. But if you're there and stay at these places for 3 weeks with a never-ending anticyclonic weather (like we did 3 years ago), all your shots will be burnt by the sun and all look the same. If you play with colors cursors at postwork time with these shots in order to get something closer to what you would have had another day, you're not really cheating and creating an imaginary world, 'cause this world exists. Anyway, you're right, reality is always better...

What a strong blue! Great composition!

The blue is so delightful! Yes, me too, I prefer photos which represent reality just as it is. But sometimes I it pushes me to fiddle around filters and change to sepia or b/w... always astonished by the results, how the mood changes. Awesome work, my friend! *****

Reality or not ,in a photo: we see only the result! In my pics, it's reality, but light is done with news papers to reflect the light ;no flash!others use flash for the light.Who i s right? And what is reality?BW for sure is not reality! And with digital,REALITY......

This one almost didn't work. You have to be hypnotized and enter the tunnel to appreciate the subtle way it shares focus.

Differing views on this lesson, but that's how we view our world. Each to his own taste. I also like a natural taken photo, but sometimes by the time you have PW it, you might as well have used a filter to obtain the effect in the first place. This image is just awesome in color...so deep and rich...Aloha~
