Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

another breathtaking capture, Jan-Carel!!!! spectacular scenery!!! I can only imagine seeing things like this in person...to be there and feel the wind rush thru me, to feel the dizzying heights...sigh...but at least i have your gallery to see all these incredible visions!!! and yeah...ya know Jan-Carel, i so rarely think about rules. i just go with what's in my heart. fantastic series...and i think this "rule" about breaking the rules is the most important...at least for me! :)

Haha... how often I have been breaking the rules of photography... actually I ususally don't care about. My shots are done with the heart and eyes... does that count, too? :o) Thanks for the link, gonna have a look asap! Have a wonderful week, JC!

I agree...know the rules -- then break them! I really like this one, how the foreground and background are almost like 2 different images, joined by the sinous central line. A wonderful closer to this series!

I fully agree with the rule that rule forever and in every situation. Creativity is more important.
